2016-17: The newly-minted captain continued to lead by example as a junior, teaming primarily with Liz Tuorinsky on a defense pair that offered Watson's controlled effectiveness on one side (although she did take the first two minor penalties of her career) and Tuorinsky's physicality and heavy shot on the other. The biology major scored seven goals, with her six in ACHA contests tying for 11th nationally among defensemen. She enjoyed a career-best game in the ECWHL third-place match with Northeastern on February 26, 2017, as she fired home three goals - half of her career total entering the game - and added two assists, as Penn State rolled NU by a 7-1 count. Additionally, Watson added tallies in both ends of PSU's season-opening series at Vermont on September 30 and October 1, 2016, as well as a rebound effort against NCAA Division III Lebanon Valley College on February 4, 2017 that held up as the game winner.

2015-16: With the 2015 graduations of standouts like Madison Smiddy, Ashton Schaffer and Kim Badorrek, Watson suddenly found herself as one of Penn State's defensive anchors in her second year of the team. While likely leading the squad in ice time, drawing the toughest assignments and playing her quietly effective style (which notably includes the fact that she did not serve one second in the penalty box over 2014-15 and 2015-16) in all situations, she managed to contribute offensively as well in more than tripling her point total from the previous season. Watson scored her first career goal with a power play drive against Massachusetts on January 10, 2016. She also collected an assist in that contest, making it her second multi-point outing after a pair of helpers against the Minutewomen on October 10, 2015. At the end of the season, she was recognized by the ECWHL's coaches with a second team all-league nod, becoming the second Lady Ice Lion blueliner (after Smiddy in 2014-15) to receive that honor.

2014-15: After spending her freshman year at the University of New England in Biddeford, ME, Watson joined the Lady Ice Lions just prior to the start of the season and quickly proved one of the team's most valuable recruits. On an initially-loaded blueline with the top four spots all occupied by seniors she still found a regular shift, and then she stepped up her game even more once departures and position changes left PSU with just five defensemen to face a daunting schedule by December. Watson collected her first collegiate point by assisting Jackie Saideh on October 5, 2014 against Delaware, and also chipped in a helper against Vermont in the ECWHL tournament third-place game on February 22, 2015. Thanks largely to her efforts, the Lady Ice Lions went seven straight games against teams that qualified for the ACHA National Tournament (from December 6, 2014 through the end of the season) without allowing more than three goals in regulation time.
