Prior to Penn State: Ollom played for Summit High School in her hometown, one of just two public girls high school teams in New Jersey. Nevertheless, Summit was the public "state champion" twice during Ollom's high school career thanks to sweeping a pair of games against the other public school, Princeton, in both 2012-13 and 2013-14.

Personal: Stephanie Sierra Ollom was born on October 1, 1995 in Summit, NJ to Fritz Ollom and Lexi DeRita. She has two step-siblings, both of whom played college hockey: Kristina DeRita was a forward at NCAA Division I Sacred Heart from 2001-05, while Michael DeRita skated for ACHA Division 1 Rutgers, including as a team captain during his junior (2007-08) and senior (2008-09) seasons. At Summit High School, Ollom graduated magna cum laude and was a member of the Hilltoppers' powerhouse track team. She plans on majoring in aerospace engineering.
