Women's Ice Hockey Club Posts Stellar Grades During the Fall Semester

Penn State's fall semester grades are in, and while the Women's Ice Hockey Club went 11-1-1 to place first in both College Hockey East and ACHA D2's East Region, the team's academic performance is just as impressive.

The WIHC posted a team-wide GPA of 3.45 for the term, demonstrating a roster-wide and rare commitment to classwork significantly in excess of university-wide and athletics-wide averages.

Furthermore, that overall number includes two student-athletes with perfect 4.0 marks, as well as nine others who made Dean's List, which requires a GPA of 3.50 or better for full-time students.

Geosciences scholar Elizabeth Denis, the squad's lone graduate student, is included in the tally of 18 total student-athletes, although new additions Emma Dickson and Alex Warren-Caldwell are not.

This weekend, the team returns to the ice from winter break with a pivotal series at rival West Chester. Puck drops are set for 3:30 p.m. Saturday and 11:00 a.m. Sunday.
