WIHCers Vaughan, Wagoner, Fisk Receive ACHA All-American Honors

Katie Vaughan has added yet another award to her decorated career

Senior goaltender Katie Vaughan, freshman forward Geneva Wagoner and sophomore forward Devon Fisk were each named All-Americans by the ACHA, in an announcement made just prior to the WIHC's Friday evening contest at the national tournament against North Dakota State. Vaughan and Wagoner received first team honors, while Fisk was selected to the second team.

PSU's two first-teamers tied with California and North Dakota State for the most of any school, with the three overall selections trailing only the Vulcans' four. Overall, Penn State women's players have received ACHA All-American recognition 17 times.

Laurels are nothing new for Pittsburgh-native stopper Vaughan, who has been a two-time selection to the U.S. National University Team, helping the squad to a historic bronze medal this past December. She presently sports a 14-3-2 record, a 1.33 goals against average and a 0.937 save percentage this season, and was also an All-American Honorable Mention and picked for the second All-ACHA Tournament team as a junior in 2012-13.

For Wagoner, at the opposite end of her career, the accolade is a first from the ACHA. It's well earned for the former Millbrook School star though, as her 15 assists and four game-winning goals lead all Penn Staters. Wagoner's totals in those two categories, along with her 26 points, lead all division rookies.

Dynamic Fisk received 2012-13 ACHA All-ACHA Tournament First Team and All-American Honorable Mention nods as a freshman a year ago, making this her third association award. Her 18 goals and 28 points are team bests, and both numbers rate among the top ten in the nation.
